Marist Asia Foundation was officially established as a legal foundation in Thailand on May 30, 2014. Its purpose is to assist the poor, migrant workers, and their dependents residing in Ranong Province with access to education, healthcare, and various migrant worker assistance programs.
Prior to its establishment, the Marist Asia Foundation was originally known as “Marist Mission Ranong.” It was established after a Needs Assessment of migrant workers in 2006 and carried out its activities under the program to assist migrant workers in need and at risk of human rights violations.
The Marist Asia Foundation currently aims to assist people living with HIV/AIDS, support education for Burmese youth aged 12 and above, and support migrant workers seeking to enhance their quality of life and employment opportunities.
Furthermore, in 2013, the Marist Mission Ranong opened the Marist Centre, a multi-purpose building dedicated to education, healthcare, and migrant worker assistance programs.

The Marist Asia Foundation is supported by the Catholic Diocese of Surat Thani and Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil.
The Marist Asia Foundation team consists of Thai and Burmese staff, as well as international volunteers. They work closely with government officials and other local organizations in Ranong Province, Thailand, and the Thai and Burmese communities.
