In July 2025, seminarian Manuele Botabua, SM began his Summer Pastoral Immersion in Ranong, Thailand

Manu spent several days in Bangkok, visiting key sites such as the Grand Palace, local markets, and temples, gaining an introduction to the country’s history and culture.

From there, he travelled to Ranong, where he joined the Marist community. His placement was divided between the Marist Education Centre and the Health Programme at Marist Asia Foundation

At the Education Centre, he supported our Sor Kor Ror program by assisting our English Teachers and accompanied students in their daily activities. Manu also joined them on a visit to Pangnam. In the Health Programme, he assisted during home visits and at the clinic, where patients living with HIV receive care.

The immersion provided insight into the lives of Ranong’s large migrant community from Myanmar and the role of the Marist Asia Foundation in education, healthcare, and pastoral support.

We are grateful to Manuele for his contribution to the Marist Mission here in Ranong.
